The NFO's Annual Conference

THE NFO'S ANNUAL CONFERENCE will be in Estes Park, about 70 miles from Denver, Colorado, Thursday, April 16 through Sunday, April 19, 2009 (and in Portland, Oregon in the spring of 2010). Watch this space for late-breaking details as the conference organizers work out all the details.

The Conference. The conference will offer the regular business meetings but much, much more. The committee is working on all aspects of the conference agenda. If you have some special item, idea, or concern, please contact Katherine St. John at kstjohn@burgoyne.com 

Location: We will be meeting at the YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park Center. Nestled in the beauty of nature, you will be free to relax, breathe the fresh air and enjoy the company of like-minded colleagues.

YMCA has custom designed a package which includes sleeping rooms for 3 nights and 3 meals a day for 3 days (that’s 9 meals) and most of our meeting space. Meals are full buffet, right next door to our sleeping and meeting rooms. The buffet offers a delicious start to your day with fresh fruit and hot breakfast options, such as omelets and fruit filled pancakes. Lunch and dinner offer a fresh salad bar with healthy toppings and a wide variety of great entrées from chicken Parmesan to spaghetti with zesty Alfredo sauce. Don't forget to stop by the dessert table and taste their baker's homemade goodies!

 

Rooms are being held at the Alpen Inn Lodge. Up to six people per room. Two queen beds plus one queen sofa bed, a small table and chairs. No television. Full private bath, balcony. Wireless INTERNET/telephone (www.YMCArockies.org)

1 per room - $351.00 per person
2 per room - $217.50 per person
3 per room - $173.00 per person
4 per room - $150.75 per person
5 per room - $137.40 per person
6 per room - $128.52 per person

There is a Saturday evening banquet being planned. At the banquet each year, the NFO honors those who have made significant and lasting contributions to the field. List of those honored at past conferences. If you would like to suggest someone as a recipient for an NFO's award, please contact Roo Lester.

Transportation:
Transportation from Denver airport is being arranged. If you drive or rent a car, distance from Denver airport to Estes Park is about 80 miles, 1 1/2 hour drive, some slow mountain areas.

Cost: Conference registration $100 for NFO members; $120 for non-members.

Got to www.ymcarockies.org and follow these links.

1. Click on "Make Reservations," then "Groups, Conference and Retreats and Family Reunions" on the right side of the home page.

2. Click on "Estes Park Center On-Line Reservations" on the next page.

3. Choose "Group or Family Reunion" and click "Continue."

4. Type in E30742 for the Group number and 93583 for the password.

5. Your group information will appear. Click "Continue"

6. Continue to make a room reservation by filling out your arrival & departure dates and putting in the number of people staying in your room. Then click “Search for Available Room Types”. Select the room type you would like. The price will appear at the bottom of the next page.

7. To finish the reservation click on “Continue to reserve this room”. You will then fill out information needed for a confirmation and asked for a deposit of 35% of your total stay.

When the reservation is completed it will give you your confirmation number. You will also receive an e-mail confirmation. If you do not get this in a timely manner feel free to contact Reservations @ 800-777-9622 ext. 2 so that we can send another copy out to you.
