Print: Books, magazines, dance descriptions and sheet music.

Collection Organization:
Cataloged:
     • All of the books and magazines will shortly be cataloged and available in both a binder and hard drive.
     • All of the music and dance descriptions are in a card catalog.
     • A 60 year index is available for all of the dances taught at Stockton in both print format and disc.
Digitized:
     • All of the music for the dances taught at the Stockton Folk Dance Camp have been put on CDs starting in 1969 on.
     • All of the 7” records (4,500) will be on CDs by the end of 2007
     • The LPs (1,500) will start to be put on CDs in 2008.
     • The dance instructions in the library generally have not been scanned to digital format.  However, an outside party is working with the library and is providing us with updated discs yearly which now have over 2,500 dance descriptions on them.
Availability of Materials:
     • The collection is available for research during regular library hours.  The hours are extended during Folk Dance Camp.
     • The collection is not available on line at this time.
     •  Note:  The VHS tapes/DVDs may be viewed at the library but may not be copied as agreed upon with the teachers and Folk Dance Camp.

Additional Notes:  This collection is unique due to the Stockton Folk Dance Camp’s yearly dance camp taking place at the university.  The music, dance descriptions, and
VHS/DVD formats are all available for the dances presented since 1972 (with the
exception of 1975 for the VHS).  Key contributors to the collection have been Lawton Harris, Lucille Czarnowski, Bill & Eve Landstra, Ruth Ruling, Dorothy Tamburini, and Bev Wilder.

Audio: Over 130 phonograph records including 12", 10", 78s, 45s, LPs. We have all of the Michael Herman Personal Library and all of the Folk Dancer records he recorded. All that we have copy rights for have been recorded in to the computer and we have 64 CDs of the FOLK DANCER MUSIC. The Kentucky Dance Foundation is a nonprofit organization for the preservation of all the Folk Dance Music for future generations.

     • Responsible for storing the 300 records for the Miami Valley Folk Dancers, 1000 records for Stan Isaacs, as well as a personal collection.
     • Video collection includes dance workshops, amateur performing groups, commercial folk dance videos, etc.

     • All dance descriptions except for most recent ones (late 2006-2007) have been scanned.
